Orcs, Goblins & Uruk-hai
Orcs — called Yrch, Goblins or Uruk-hai — were bred or corrupted into the service of Morgoth and Sauron. Tolkien returned to their origin more than once and never settled it, so this archive records the question as open. Their societies are militarised and fractious: captains vie for favour, and loyalty runs only to the strongest leader or the promise of plunder.
